The Fall Berry

While I admit, I am jumping the gun a little on this post as it's still pretty warm where I'm at, I just can't resist the call to talk about my favorite shade of lip/nail color ever: berry (most specifically, the Fall Berry). Every year, around this time, girls start incorporating darker colors into their wardrobe and makeup routines, yet berry always manages to sneak itself in as that little pop of color we all need from time to time, especially when the weather gets cold and dreary.

My favorite thing about the Fall Berry, a very subtle berry, is that it is universally flattering.  Bring me a girl who doesn't look good in a berry lip and I will be convinced the world is ending.  It just works...on everyone.  Of course, you do have to consider red and blue undertones, blah blah blah, but everyone looks good in some form of the Fall Berry.

Revlon Nail Enamel in Seductive- $4.99

This nail polish is Fall Berry's deep older sister.  Seductive is to berry what oxblood is to red and it is absolutely perfect for the fall.  Though, if I could wear this gorgeous polish year round, I totally would.

Sephora Raspberry Ink- Discontinued

I actually picked this lip stain up on a whim at the Sephora checkout counter and it may be one of my favorite things I've ever purchased there.  It's this highly pigmented stain that lasts fo-re-ver.  Layer a gloss over this bad boy and you will have the perfect berry pout.

Fresh Tinted Lip Treatment in Sugar Plum- $22.50

I've actually posted about this balmy lip treatment before and I love it as much for the fall as I did for the summer.  Of course, it is the sheerest of the bunch, but perfect for livening up your lips nonetheless.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Berry Allure- $7.99

Does anyone remember when I discussed the best lipgloss ever a while back?  Well these two must be related, because Berry Allure is like the berry version of The Red- Shiny that looks good on literally everyone.  Plus, this new Revlon formula is pretty amazing.  It's not to sticky, but it is also tenacious enough to last through a few hours at a college football tailgate.

So, that is my Fall Berry Roundup.  What do you all think?  Do you have any Fall Berries you just can't live without?

Better than the Clarisonic?

      First of all, don't get too carried away with the title of this post.  Notice the question mark at the end, which shows a bit of doubt.  I just wanted to get your attention.  I am still highly attached to/in love with my Clarisonic, but I must admit that a little $5 tool that I've discovered at Sephora has really been a godsend for my troubled skin these past few days.  This tool is the Sephora Collection Precision Pore Cleansing Pad and yes, it costs only $5. 

      I am actually really surprised that I've never blogged about the pore pad before because I owned one last year.  I finally threw my old one out, though, because I figured keeping it for too long probably wasn't sanitary.  I am so glad I decided to repurchase because I truly forgot how great this thing is.  The surface of the little scrublet, which is made of silicone, is covered with silicone bristles.  These soft bristles massage your face and really give your cleansing routine an exfoliating boost.  I have found the Precision Pore Cleansing Pad to be safe for everyday use on my face, but as usual, I would advise you to figure out what works best for your skin, whether that means using it 7 days a week or only 2. 

      
       So, as far as being better than the Clarisonic goes.... Better price? Oh yea.  Better performance?  That depends on the user.  The Clarisonic is great, but many people find it to be too harsh for daily use.  The Precision Pore Cleansing Pad is extremely gentle and the degree of exfoliation really just depends on how much pressure you apply with your hand while using it, making it safe for daily use.  Either way I love them both!

Quick Thoughts: February Wish List

It's been a while since I've done "The Quick Post" so now that I've learned to use a bit of photo editing software I'll do a quick Wish List Post complete with a cute little picture and all!  I know it's not February yet, but I think it's a little late to be doing a January Wish List and I'm bored, sooooo... February Wish List it is!  As I'm sitting here typing, my face is as solid as a rock thanks to a sample of Glam Glow I picked up at Sephora the other day.  Apparently, it contains seven different types of acids (sounds appealing, huh?).  Hopefully these acids will eat away all the blemishes that have been popping up on my face lately.  Ah, stress...such a wonderful thing!  So, hey, can we talk about my February Wish List now?

Florabotanica by Balenciaga:  To be honest, it's been a while since I've sampled this and I can't remember individual notes.  The main thing I remember is that it was floral without being overly feminine and that is quite a feat for a perfume to achieve.

Catbird NYC Alphabet Rings:  One of my friends received the little gold heart ring as a Christmas gift and I loved it, so of course I had to go checkout their website (catbirdnyc.com).  Turns out they have tons of adorable  stacking rings as well as rings you can wear alone.  Even if you don't plan on buying anything, I highly recommend taking a look at their stuff.

Bobbi Brown Sheer Color Cheek Tint in Sheer Cherry:  I was bitten by the Bobbi Brown bug a few weeks back and I can't get enough.  This product is a part of her new Pink & Red Collection.  I think sheer cherry would give you that Icelandic princess look.  I hope that description gives you all the same picture I've got in mind.

Soap & Glory Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser:  First of all, what's not to love about Soap & Glory's products?  They've got the cutest names and packaging to die for.  I also must admit that I'm a sucker for products that come with a little something extra, i.e. the cloth that comes with this cleanser.  This emollient cleanser apparently does some serious makeup removal and I need that, especially after a long night.

Sephora Collection Deluxe Airless Travel Kit:  I need these containers for those foundations that come in annoying glass bottles sans pump (*cough* Revlon Colorstay *cough*).  Also, these would be awesome for travel, as the kit contains multiple sizes of pump bottles plus two reasonably sized jars.
